New York State continues to boom with growth and work opportunities for electricians!

In New York City, our 20,000 electrical construction workers are working on port work, huge residential high-rises and a wide range of medium-to-large jobs.

In Upstate NY, there are large solar and wind farms planned in every county, the largest of which requires 70 to 100 electricians for at least half a year. North of Albany, plans are being made for additional work at a huge computer chip plant under a PLA. Medical colleges, amusement parks, hospitals, powerhouses, schools and data centers are going up all over the state - IBEW Contractors are getting this work!

Line construction workers in the state are extremely busy and their locals are interested in receiving applications from journeyman linemen and apprentices.

Journeyman Electrician hourly wages in NY State vary from the mid $30s to low $50s/hour plus benefits, depending on location.

Members have the protection of employer-paid healthcare plans. Commercial workers and their families have the security of three pension plans, while line workers and their families have the security of a defined contribution pension plan.
