Iowa needs plenty of new electrical workers for construction projects.

In Des Moines, our employers need electricians with all levels of experience, from semi-skilled to journeymen. Major data center projects and high-rise buildings will likely create demand for as many as 600 new members.

North central and Northwestern Iowa have an immediate need for wind tower workers for multiple projects.

High demand for line construction workers will continue for the foreseeable future, as many of our members have traveled to reconstruction projects following tropical storm disasters in the southern states and Puerto Rico.

Total journeymen electrician wage and benefit packages range from $48 an hour to $60 an hour depending on location. Journeymen linemen are paid $65+ an hour. Our employers provide great healthcare and retirement plans.
